Ceremony 2013

The Epica Awards ceremony and International Creative Circle took place in Delhi at the Kingdom of Dreams on Friday, January 24th 2014. In the afternoon leading up to the ceremony, Epica and exchange4media hosted the Creative Circle, a conference highlighting international creative work. It included speeches from Bechara Mouzannar, Chief Creative Officer of Leo Burnett MENA, and Hideto Yagi, Creative Director and Art Director of Dentsu, Japan.

The evening ceremony opened with a speech by Indian advertising legend Mohammed Khan, who was inducted into the Indian Creativity Hall of Fame. The retired adman told the audience, "Thank God I am out of it!" But he added: "This is not just your job. This is your life. This is your future. This is a business of passion. And this, above all is about creating great ideas. I want you all to go out there and change things … And I want you say, 'Thank God I am in advertising'".

To date the annual Epica ceremony has been held in 19 different cities: Brussels, Amsterdam, Moscow, London, Zurich, Düsseldorf, Warsaw, Lisbon, Helsinki, Prague, Milan, Dublin, Budapest, Istanbul, Stockholm, Athens, Belgrade, Zagreb, Ljubljana and New Delhi. The 2013 ceremony was the first event to take place outside Europe, reflecting Epica’s evolution from a Europe-only prize into an international competition.
